Prof. Kazuya Yoshida (Tohoku University, Japan) and Prof. Hugh Hill (ISU), January 5, 2016
It is a long-established and much loved part of both the ISU Masters programs and SSP. There are 14 mixed teams will compete with 7-8 members per team (a record number of 101 students in total: 41 from ISU, and 60 from ENSIIE). Its great fun if you enter into the spirit of the exercise. Try to be a good team player ! Using Lego Mindstorms NXT kits, you will “build and program robots that do what you want.”
The objective is to design, build, program and test a robot rover capable of avoiding obstacles, and then finding and collecting as many precious “gems” (photo right) as possible on a competition field.
The competition took place on January 7, Thursday at 14:00 on a “competition field” (4.8 x 4.8 m approx.) in the Space Pioneer’s Hall.
The Winner of the competition was Team 12 – Sir Geminator with 585 points!
